My Dad

February 20, 2008

If you’ve ever read the About Me section of my website, you know that my dad is my inspiration. Yesterday was 4 months since he passed. It’s still lonely at times. I do know that he is with me… all the time, on all my shoots and I can feel how proud he is that I am doing something that I love.

I take tons of pictures – I always have! I have a thousand pictures of Kayla with each of the grandmothers, but so few with my dad. It’s because he never wanted to be selfish – he didn’t want to intrude, he lived 2 miles from me so he stopped by all the time, at least once a week. It’s ironic he was afraid that Kayla would forget him if she didn’t see him all the time. He never stopped by just to hold her, he simply wanted to see her. She made him very happy. If anything, I wish I had more pictures of them. I don’t need more memories, I have so many of those.

So it got me thinking, I have never done a grandparent shoot. So if any grandparents are reading this and would like a free mini session, be the first to e-mail me! Usually a shoot is focused primarily on the child – usually at least 3/4 of the pictures of the child alone. So a mini shoot would simply focus on the 2 or 3 of you and not the child alone. (Travel restrictions still apply – see my website).

And lastly – my dad and daugther

An old shoot

February 19, 2008

This is a shoot from a couple months ago (before I had the blog). These are of a very good friend of mine. We met back in Hoboken about 4 years ago because we both had pugs around the same age! We both ended up getting 2nd pugs and our daughters were born 4 days apart. I love shooting them (all of them, including the dogs, lol). They welcomed a new son to their family and he is such an angel.

A girl and her pig

February 19, 2008

This is my daughter – you’ll probably see a lot of her in my blog as she’s a model always available to me! Her current obsession is this pig – it vibrates and sings when you push the nose. She likes to hold the pig’s nose and her nose, it’s pretty cute. I even have some funny pictures of her crosseyed trying to look at the pig!

I got a new lens in the mail (yay) and couldn’t wait to get it on my camera.

Abigail

February 19, 2008

I had the joy of shooting lil Abigail this past weekend. I couldn’t have asked for a better family! She was the perfect model – so happy and loved to be on her tummy. You can tell how much mom and dad love her – which makes for easy shooting for me. I think I captured Abigail’s beauty – but more importantly the true love her parents have for her!

Just look at those eyes…
